Tune-Up & Warm-Up
You Know What to Do... Let's Do It!
A minor to C major
Practice going back and forth from A- to C. Sometimes start with A- and then other times start with C. You'll note you really only need to move one finger. However, you'll find that even though it's just one finger, the other fingers will also adjust to the new shape. That's just what they do!!
E Maj - A Maj - B7
New Chords...! These are the last three (3) chords you'll be learning during our program together. You can see these are a little more difficult than some of the other chords we've learned. But, with the addition of these chords, you now know a total of eight (8) chords.
This means you have the KNOWLEDGE to play hundreds, if not thousands of songs!
To empower that knowledge -- you simply need to practice the shapes (reps) and get these chords "under-your-fingers." It's just a matter of time (reps) before they will come almost automatically - without even thinking about it.
Knockin' On Heaven's Door
Verse & Chorus
This Bob Dylan classic "Knockin on Heaven's Door" incorporates chords you already know. Let's play it together.
I've slowed the song down to 75% so that you have time to change chords. As you'll soon see, this song is very repetitious -- but, it's excellent for building hand and finger strength - as well as excellent timing practice for your right hand strumming.
Reminder: G (2 strums), D (2 strums), A- (4 strums) ---> G (2 strums), D (2 strums), C (4 strums)
Despacito
Please keep working on this "lowered key" version of Despacito. This is a great song to practice "grabbing" your chords: E- C G D. Try the best you can to play along with me.
