Tune-Up & Warm-Up
Let's Do It!
See how fast you can play this with accuracy.
Focus on the timing of this musical phrase.
A minor to C major
Practice going back and forth from A- to C. Sometimes start with A- and then other times start with C. You'll note you really only need to move one finger. However, you'll find that even though it's just one finger, the other fingers will also adjust to the new shape. That's just what they do!!
E maj, A maj, B7
These are the three (3) new chords we learned this week. Work on building each chord individually. Then, try practicing by playing four strums for each chord: E maj, A maj, B7
Knockin' On Heaven's Door
Verse & Chorus
If you can play "Let It Be" then, this song should come a little more easily since it incorporates most of the same chords. The only difference is the A minor chord.
I've slowed the song down to 75% so that you have time to change chords. As you'll soon see, this song is very repetitious -- but, it's excellent for building hand and finger strength - as well as excellent timing practice for your right hand strumming.
Reminder: G (2 strums), D (2 strums), A- (4 strums) ---> G (2 strums), D (2 strums), C (4 strums)
